What's a session like?
Sessions are always tailored to an individual's own spiritual journey. A session might include:
- Moments of silence, guided meditation, or intention-setting to create a sacred container.
- Space to share whatever is arising in your heart and mind that you hope to untangle. It may be a thought, a question, a concern, a prayer, a pain, as it relates to your life and, in particular, your spiritual longing.
- Reflections offered through a compassionate mirror, helping you feel seen and heard, and supporting you in making connections to the divine sparks in your life.
- Questions in service of illuminating your path.
- Gentle invitations to rest in particular moments, go deeper, and move beyond words into sacred experience.
- Prayer or blessing may be included, if welcomed, always tailored to your preferred approach and language.
- Occasional offerings of resources to support you on your spiritual journey, wherever you find yourself at that time. You are entirely free to take these up or not as you wish.

With You, In Practice
Different spiritual directors hold space in different ways according to their background and training. My approach is rooted in offering you:
- Mindfulness as a pathway to spiritual connection and heart awakening
- A curiosity and openness to the myriad ways you may experience the sacred mystery
- Deep respect for how spiritual direction may complement your other healing work
- A commitment to creating a safe and loving container for you to feel comfortable exploring the nature of your most authentic self and these deepest questions of life
- A belief that “going inward” offers the chance to bring medicine out to the world
- A trauma-informed approach and an understanding of spiritual direction as an excellent complement for other trauma-healing modalities.
In spiritual direction, I stay present while orienting beyond my ego. Like the full moon—reflecting the sun’s light—I aim to reflect the Sacred rather than be its source.
I welcome all seekers, especially:
- Those who wrestle with religion and who may have felt disenfranchised by their faith communities of origin
- Those who are navigating grief
- Those who seek to bring a loving presence to their lived experience
- Those who struggle with belief in a separate God
- Those who connect spirituality to social justice
- Those who have had mystical / transcendent experiences
- Those who experience a spiritual home in nature
- Those interested in exploring the boundaries of the self
Frequency
While sessions may ebb and flow over time, spiritual direction occurs, on average, for one hour every month. We can adjust the frequencies based on your needs. Sessions may be by phone, on Zoom, or in person in Silver Spring, Md.
People remain in spiritual direction for as long as they feel called to it.
Fees
I charge $125 for an hour-long session of spiritual direction.
If you want and need this service but cannot afford it, please contact me and ask about a sliding scale option.
Spiritual direction should be accessible to all.
